Legendary birthplace of the gods Apollo and Artemis, the ancient city of Patara on Turkey’s Mediterranean Coast is on the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in Turkey. Once the heart of the Lycian League, Patara’s council hall echoed with historic decisions and was crowned by the masterful roof of the Tmolos-born architect Dionysios. Blending myth and history, Şükrü Gürsoy’s film The Oracle takes audiences on a cinematic tour of the archaeological site. Led by the well-known Turkish actor Uğur Polat, we explore Patara’s sacred prophecy rituals, the grandeur of its Roman aqueduct, and the enduring ingenuity of Anatolian engineering. Through vivid imagery and archaeological insight, The Oracle unveils a milennia-old legacy, where divine belief and human creativity meet
