A tradition spanning millennia… A culture shaped in harmony with nature’s law, claiming only one of the three rights for itself… A people bound in kinship with snakes, squirrels, and blackbirds alike… Yet now, this cycle of life, pursued by the Doğa Association in Izmir’s Orhanlı Valley, is standing on the brink of peril. Bulut Renas Kaçan’s documentary The Cycle examines the continuation of traditional methods of olive cultivation through a lens of cultural heritage preservation.  Step by step, season by season, we learn about sustainable cultivation practices, handed down over generations, from the people who are struggling to keep them alive. The Cycle had its World Premiere in 2025 at the 32nd International Adanba Golden Boll Film Festival, where it received an Honorable Mention Award.
